Insert a symbol into the text. If the browser is Internet Explorer and if there is an entry in Microsoft's symbol font, that will be used, otherwise unicode is used.

symbolName
a string, LATex or HTML label for the symbol.

Action

The actual symbol is inserted using Microsoft's symbol font and code if the browser is IE and if the symbol is available. Otherwise inserts unicode. The symbol name is interpreted as a LATex name if setSymbolsToLatex(set) was last called with set = true and as HTML if there was no call or set=false on the last call.
